OSTEOMALACIA   This is the softening of bones in adult horses due to mineral and vitamin deficiency. Should the management of a horse suffering from this condition be taken on, ensure it is always provided with plenty of good roughage. Do not attempt to increase weight until after the problem has been reversed.
